# Airline Route Traffic API – US Passengers, Seats and Cargo by Route

Monthly passengers, seats, departures, freight and mail for every airline route touching the US since 2005, by carrier, airport pair and aircraft type, with load factors, from BTS T-100 segment data.

## What it returns

Monthly traffic on every airline route that touches the United States since 2005, from US and foreign carriers: for each carrier, origin and destination airport, aircraft type, service class and month, the departures scheduled and performed, seats, passengers, freight, mail, payload, air time and distance, with the load factor (passengers as a share of seats).

Filter by carrier, airport, route (one or both directions), state, country, aircraft type, service class, month range or minimum passengers. Or group to get totals by carrier, airport, route, market, month, year, aircraft type, origin state or destination country, for market share, route growth, capacity and cargo analysis.

Source: the Bureau of Transportation Statistics T-100 Segment data (all carriers), updated monthly about three months after each month ends.

## Request

`POST https://api.pushbuild.com/airline-route-traffic/run` with a JSON body. Send your key in the `X-API-Key` header.

| `destinations` | list of strings | Three-letter codes, e.g. LAX. |
| `bothDirections` | boolean | With origins and destinations, also count the reverse direction. |
| `originStates` | list of strings | Two-letter US state codes. |
| `destStates` | list of strings | Two-letter US state codes. |
| `originCountries` | list of strings | Two-letter country codes, e.g. US, GB, MX. |
| `destCountries` | list of strings | Two-letter country codes. |
| `aircraftTypes` | list of strings | BTS aircraft type codes, e.g. 614 (737-800). |
| `serviceClass` | string: scheduledPassenger, scheduledCargo, charterPassenger, charterCargo, any | scheduledPassenger (default), scheduledCargo, charterPassenger, charterCargo or any. |
| `monthFrom` | string | YYYY-MM or YYYY. |
| `monthTo` | string | YYYY-MM or YYYY. |
| `minPassengers` | integer | Only rows (carrier, route, aircraft, month) with at least this many passengers. |
| `groupBy` | string: carrier, origin, dest, route, market, month, year, aircraftType, originState, destCountry | Totals (departures, seats, passengers, freight, mail, load factor, carriers, routes) by carrier, origin, dest, route, market (both directions), month, year, aircraftType, originState or destCountry. |
| `sort` | string: passengers, seats, departures, freight, loadFactor | passengers (default), seats, departures, freight or loadFactor. |
| `maxItems` | integer | Maximum items to return (1-500). Default: `100`. |

Each call returns up to 500 items. Records that fail validation or are not found are flagged in the items and not charged.

## Pricing

Pay only for results returned: $0.80 per 1,000 records. No charge for errors or empty searches.
