# A quarter of Colorado's campaign money from individuals came from out of state

Published 2026-11-07 · By Pushbuild · Data: [State Campaign Contributions API – Donors to State and Local Campaigns](https://pushbuild.com/apis/state-campaign-contributions.html)

**26.6% of individual contributions to Colorado campaigns in 2025-26 came from donors outside Colorado, the highest share in our data; New York was the largest source.** Indiana was 23.1% (mostly Illinois) and Texas 21.1% (mostly California).

Hover or tap a state for its value. Same numbers as the table below.

| State | Individual $ | From out of state | Top outside state |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| CO | $70.8M | 26.6% | NY |
| IN | $39.8M | 23.1% | IL |
| TX | $738.2M | 21.1% | CA |
| NY | $275.1M | 18.5% | CA |
| HI | $8.4M | 12.3% | CA |
| OK | $47.4M | 8.8% | TX |
| NE | $29.5M | 7.8% | CA |
| WA | $81.4M | 6.7% | CA |

The same data shows how concentrated giving is: three donors listing Middleton Oil as employer gave $22.1M, nearly ten times what 1,535 Valero employees gave ($2.3M).

## Caveats

Individual contributions with a two-letter donor state only. Illinois and Minnesota filings do not label donors as individuals the same way and are not in this table.
