# Restaurant Inspections API – Health Scores, Grades and Violations

Restaurant health inspections from New York City, Chicago, Seattle/King County, Austin and Boston in one schema: score, grade, result and each violation, refreshed weekly.

## What it returns

Restaurant and food establishment health inspections from city and county health departments, in one schema: establishment name, address, ZIP and coordinates, facility type and cuisine, inspection date and type, score, grade, result, and each violation cited with its code, description and whether it was critical.

Search by restaurant name, address, city, ZIP, facility id, cuisine, grade, result, a violation code or words in its description (for example "mice"), minimum critical violations and date range, newest or worst first.

Jurisdictions: New York City (DOHMH, letter grades), Chicago (CDPH, pass/fail), Seattle and King County (Public Health, scores and ratings), Austin (scores) and Boston (Inspectional Services), more added as health departments publish open data. Rebuilt weekly from each department's open data portal.

Charged per inspection returned.

## Request

`POST https://api.pushbuild.com/restaurant-inspections/run` with a JSON body. Send your key in the `X-API-Key` header.

| `facilityId` | string | The department's establishment id (NYC CAMIS, Chicago license, King County business id). |
| `cuisine` | string | Cuisine contains (NYC). |
| `facilityType` | string | Facility type contains, e.g. Restaurant, Grocery. |
| `grade` | string | Grade starts with, e.g. A, C, Excellent. |
| `result` | string | Result contains, e.g. Fail, Unsatisfactory, Closed. |
| `violation` | string | A violation code, or text in its description, e.g. mice. |
| `minCritical` | integer | Only inspections with at least this many critical violations. |
| `dateFrom` | string | YYYY-MM-DD. |
| `dateTo` | string | YYYY-MM-DD. |
| `sort` | string: newest, worst | newest first, or worst (most critical violations) first. Default: `"newest"`. |
| `maxItems` | integer | Maximum items to return (1-500). Default: `100`. |

Each call returns up to 500 items. Records that fail validation or are not found are flagged in the items and not charged.

Pay only for results returned: $0.80 per 1,000 inspections. No charge for errors or empty searches.
