# WARN Layoff Notices API – Mass Layoffs and Plant Closures by State

Search WARN Act notices of mass layoffs and plant closures filed with US state labor departments: company, location, notice and effective dates, workers affected and notice type, in one schema across about 20 states.

## What it returns

WARN Act notices of mass layoffs and plant closures, filed with US state labor departments, in one schema: company, city or location, notice date, effective date, workers affected and notice type (layoff or closure, permanent or temporary), plus each state's other published fields under `details`.

23 states: Alaska, Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington and Wisconsin. About 36,000 notices; history depth depends on the state (California from 2008, Illinois from 1987). Refreshed weekly.

New Jersey and Pennsylvania publish only the effective date, so `noticeFrom`/`noticeTo` skip their notices; filter them with `effectiveFrom`/`effectiveTo`.

## Request

`POST https://api.pushbuild.com/warn-layoff-notices/run` with a JSON body. Send your key in the `X-API-Key` header.

| `location` | string | City, county or address contains this text. |
| `noticeType` | string | Layoff or closure type contains this text, e.g. closure. |
| `noticeFrom` | string | Notice date on or after (YYYY-MM-DD). |
| `noticeTo` | string | Notice date on or before (YYYY-MM-DD). |
| `effectiveFrom` | string | Layoff effective date on or after (YYYY-MM-DD). |
| `effectiveTo` | string | Layoff effective date on or before (YYYY-MM-DD). |
| `minEmployees` | integer | Only notices affecting at least this many workers. |
| `sort` | string: newest, largest, effective | newest notice (default), largest layoff, or latest effective date. Default: `"newest"`. |
| `groupBy` | string: state, month, year, company, noticeType, location | Return counts of notices and affected workers instead of notices. |
| `maxItems` | integer | Maximum items to return (1-500). Default: `100`. |

Each call returns up to 500 items. Records that fail validation or are not found are flagged in the items and not charged.
