What it returns
Every US civil aviation accident and incident investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board since 2008 (about 32,000 aircraft records), from the NTSB's monthly database release (public domain). Owner and private-operator names and addresses are not included; operators are named only when they are businesses.
Event id, NTSB number, accident or incident, date, local time, city, state, country, coordinates, nearest airport, highest injury, fatalities, serious, minor and uninjured counts, light and weather conditions, registration, make, model, category, damage, FAR part, engines, homebuilt flag, operator (businesses), probable cause, coded findings with cause or factor, optional narrative and the NTSB report link.

Aircraft due diligence before purchase or financing, aviation insurance underwriting, flight-school and fleet safety analysis, legal research, journalism.
