Pushbuild

Bank transactions in your app or spreadsheet, without the CSV downloads.

We integrate Plaid so your users or your finance team can link bank accounts once and have transactions, balances and account details flow into your app, database or reporting. The integration handles re-authentication, webhooks and errors so the data keeps arriving.

Sound familiar?

What we hear from businesses before a project like this starts.

  • Someone downloads bank CSVs every week to update our cash reports.
  • Our app needs users to connect their bank accounts and we haven't done it before.
  • Linked accounts stop updating and users don't know they need to re-connect.
  • Transaction categories from the bank are useless for our reporting.
  • We need balances or verification for an onboarding flow.

How we approach it

The habits that keep this kind of project from going wrong.

1

Sandbox first

Every flow, including errors and re-links, is tested in Plaid's Sandbox before production access.

2

Least data

We request only the Plaid products and fields your use needs, which also keeps costs down.

3

Your Plaid account

Keys and the production application are in your name; we work through team access.

How we work

You know what you're getting before work begins, and you see it working at every milestone.

  1. You describe it

Tell us what you need in your own words, and which tools you already use. A few lines is plenty to start.

  2. A written scope

We reply with a short written scope: what gets built, what is out of scope, which accounts we need, and how we'll both know it works. You know what you're getting before work begins.

  3. Milestones you review

The work is split into milestones. At each one you see it working in your own account and sign it off before we go on.

  4. Handover and a 30-day fix window

You get the working system, its documentation and a walkthrough. If anything we built breaks in the next 30 days, we fix it at no charge.

What shapes the scope

  • Internal use or customer-facing
  • Which Plaid products you need
  • Where the data goes
  • Plaid's production approval for your use case

Always included

  • A written scope before work starts
  • Milestones you review and sign off
  • Documentation and a walkthrough at handover
  • A 30-day window for fixes, at no charge

Pushbuild has built software for businesses since 2010, for more than 40 clients. Every project is led by a former public-company CTO, from Groton, Massachusetts. See products we've built.

Questions people ask first

Do we need our own Plaid account?

Yes. Plaid approves production access per company, and the account should be yours. We help with the application details.

Is this secure?

Access tokens are stored encrypted in your systems, never in spreadsheets or front-end code, and only the needed products are requested.

Can it post to QuickBooks or Xero?

Yes, through their APIs, with the account mapping agreed with your bookkeeper. Often the accounting system's own bank feed is enough; we say so if it is.

What happens after handover?

For 30 days we fix anything we built that doesn't work as scoped, at no charge.
