Pushbuild

A Discord bot that runs the chores your mods keep doing by hand.

We build Discord bots around what your server actually needs: roles that follow payments or memberships, ticket and support flows, moderation, scheduled posts and alerts from your other systems. The code is yours, hosted in your account, with a guide to change it.

Sound familiar?

What we hear from businesses before a project like this starts.

  • Moderators hand out and remove roles every time someone pays, cancels or verifies.
  • Support questions get lost in busy channels and nobody knows what was answered.
  • We want alerts from our store, app or data feed posted into Discord automatically.
  • A bot we paid for stopped working after a Discord API change and the developer is gone.
  • Off-the-shelf bots do 80% of what we need and the last 20% is the important part.

What buyers usually need

The requests that come up most often for this kind of work, and what each one takes to work properly.

01

Roles that follow membership

Roles added and removed automatically from Stripe, Patreon, Whop or your own user list.

02

Tickets and support threads

Private threads per request, with a log your team can search.

03

Moderation that fits your rules

Filters, slow mode, verification and logs tuned to how your community works.

04

Alerts from other systems

Orders, signups, prices or status changes posted to the right channel.

05

Slash commands for members

Lookups, sign-ups and actions members run themselves.

Tools that come up most: discord.py, discord.js, Discord interactions and webhooks, Stripe, Patreon, Whop, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker and Fly.io or your own server.

What you get

Concrete pieces, each one something you can open and check when it's done.

How we approach it

The habits that keep this kind of project from going wrong.

1

Permissions first

The bot gets only the Discord permissions it needs, listed in the scope.

2

Reconcile, don't trust

Webhooks get missed, so role sync is paired with a scheduled check against the source of truth.

3

Your hosting, your token

The bot runs in your account with your bot token, so it keeps running without us.

How we work

You know what you're getting before work begins, and you see it working at every milestone.

  1. You describe it

Tell us what you need in your own words, and which tools you already use. A few lines is plenty to start.

  2. A written scope

We reply with a short written scope: what gets built, what is out of scope, which accounts we need, and how we'll both know it works. You know what you're getting before work begins.

  3. Milestones you review

The work is split into milestones. At each one you see it working in your own account and sign it off before we go on.

  4. Handover and a 30-day fix window

You get the working system, its documentation and a walkthrough. If anything we built breaks in the next 30 days, we fix it at no charge.

What shapes the scope

  • Number of commands and flows
  • Which payment or data systems it connects to
  • Server size and rate limits
  • Hosting choice

Always included

  • A written scope before work starts
  • Milestones you review and sign off
  • Documentation and a walkthrough at handover
  • A 30-day window for fixes, at no charge

Pushbuild has built software for businesses since 2010, for more than 40 clients. Every project is led by a former public-company CTO, from Groton, Massachusetts. See products we've built.

Questions people ask first

Can it work with our existing bots?

Yes. We check what your current bots do and avoid overlapping commands or permissions.

Where does it run?

In your own hosting account, such as Fly.io, a small VPS or a server you already have. We set it up and document it.

What happens when Discord changes its API?

We use the maintained libraries and current interaction model. For 30 days after handover we fix anything we built that stops working as scoped, at no charge.

Do you need admin on our server?

Only to invite the bot and test it. Your admins keep ownership of the server and the bot application.

Tell us what you need built.

Email a few lines about what you want and which tools you use, or call. We reply with questions or a written scope.
