Pushbuild

An Airtable base that still makes sense in a year.

We design or rebuild your Airtable base around the records your business actually tracks, build an Interface for each role, and automate the hand-offs with Airtable automations, scripts or n8n, Make and Zapier. Everything lives in your own workspace, with a written guide so your team can change it after we leave.

Sound familiar?

What we hear from businesses before a project like this starts.

  • Our base started as one table and now has forty, and nobody is sure which fields still matter.
  • We hit record or automation limits and don't know whether to upgrade, split the base or move off Airtable.
  • Staff edit the grid directly and keep breaking formulas and links.
  • Data gets copied between bases by hand because they don't talk to each other.
  • We need a portal so clients or partners can see their own records, and nothing else.

What buyers usually need

The requests that come up most often for this kind of work, and what each one takes to work properly.

01

A schema built around real records

Tables for the things you track, linked rather than copied, with field types that stop bad data at entry.

02

Interfaces instead of the raw grid

Each role gets screens with only the records and buttons they need, so the base stops getting broken.

03

Automations and scripts

Status changes, assignments, reminders and calculations that run on their own, with scripts where automations fall short.

04

Sync with your other tools

Forms, email, accounting, CRM and calendars connected through native integrations, the Airtable API, or n8n, Make and Zapier.

05

A plan for limits

Record counts, automation runs and API limits checked against your plan, with archiving or a split agreed before you hit them.

06

Client or partner access

Portals built with Interfaces or Softr, scoped to the records each outside user should see.

Tools that come up most: Airtable, Airtable Interfaces, Airtable scripting and API, Softr, Fillout, n8n, Make, Zapier, Google Workspace, Slack and QuickBooks.

What you get

Concrete pieces, each one something you can open and check when it's done.

Base audit and redesign

A map of your current tables and fields, what is used, and a cleaner structure agreed with you.

Schema review, field inventory

Role-based Interfaces

Dashboards, record review and data-entry screens for each team.

Airtable Interfaces

Automations and scripts

Triggers, scheduled jobs and scripts for the logic automations can't do alone.

Integrations

Two-way links with forms, CRM, accounting and email.

Airtable API, n8n, Make, Zapier

Portals

Client, partner or volunteer views limited to their own records.

Guide and training

A written guide to the base and a recorded walkthrough.

Guide, training call

Typical projects

Example packages to show the shape of the work. These are examples, not past clients; yours gets its own written scope.

Example package

Base audit

A written review of your current base: what to keep, merge, archive or rebuild, and how close you are to plan limits.

You get

  • Table and field inventory
  • Problems ranked by impact
  • Proposed structure
  • Limit and plan check

Example package

Rebuild and migrate

Your base restructured, with data moved across and nothing lost.

You get

  • Structure agreed in writing
  • Data migrated with record counts
  • Old links and views redirected
  • Guide and training call

Example package

Interfaces and automations

Screens for each role and the hand-offs automated.

You get

  • Interface per role
  • Assignment and status automations
  • Reminder and alert rules
  • Test log of each automation

Example package

Portal or integration

Outside users or another system connected to the base.

You get

  • Portal or sync agreed in writing
  • Access limited per user
  • Error alerts
  • Notes on how it works

How we approach it

The habits that keep this kind of project from going wrong.

1

Inventory before changes

We list every table, field and automation first, so nothing your team relies on disappears in the rebuild.

2

Interfaces over grids

People work in screens built for their role; the grid is for whoever maintains the base.

3

Counted migration

Record counts before and after every move, with a list of anything merged or skipped.

4

Yours to run

Built in your workspace, named clearly, and documented so your team can change it.

How we work

A written scope first, then working progress you can check, then a proper handover.

  1. You describe it

Tell us what you need in your own words, and which tools you already use. A few lines is plenty to start.

  2. A written scope

We reply with a short written scope: what gets built, what is out of scope, which accounts we need, and how we'll both know it works. You know what you're getting before work begins.

  3. Milestones you review

The work is split into milestones. At each one you see it working in your own account and sign it off before we go on.

  4. Handover and a 30-day fix window

You get the working system, its documentation and a walkthrough. If anything we built breaks in the next 30 days, we fix it at no charge.

What shapes the scope

  • How many tables, records and roles
  • How much existing data needs restructuring
  • Which tools it connects to
  • Your Airtable plan and its limits

Always included

  • A written scope before work starts
  • Milestones you review and sign off
  • Documentation and a walkthrough at handover
  • A 30-day window for fixes, at no charge

Pushbuild has built software for businesses since 2010, for more than 40 clients. Every project is led by a former public-company CTO, from Groton, Massachusetts. See products we've built.

Questions people ask first

Should we stay on Airtable?

Usually yes, if records stay within your plan's limits and the logic fits automations and scripts. If not, the audit says so and outlines the alternative.

Do you need our Airtable login?

No. Invite us as a collaborator with the access the scope needs and remove us at handover.

Can outside people use it safely?

Yes, through Interfaces or a portal like Softr, limited to the records each person should see. We test that with sample users before handover.

Will our automations break during the rebuild?

We build the new structure alongside the old one and switch over once each automation is tested, so work keeps running.

What happens after handover?

For 30 days we fix anything we built that does not work as the scope describes, at no charge. After that, further work is scoped and agreed with you first.

Tell us what you need built.

Email a few lines about what you want and which tools you use, or call. We reply with questions or a written scope.
