What it returns
The Research Organization Registry: open, persistent identifiers for 120,000+ research organizations worldwide. Data is CC0.
ROR ID, display name, labels in other languages, aliases and acronyms, types, status, year established, country, region, city and coordinates, website and Wikipedia links, web domains, GRID, ISNI, Crossref Funder and Wikidata IDs, parent, child and related organizations, and match score and confidence for affiliations.
Common uses
Cleaning and normalizing author affiliations in publication and grant data, linking funders to Crossref Funder IDs, institution pickers for research software, bibliometrics by institution and country, CRM and lead lists of universities and research hospitals.
