UnitedHealth's Medicare Advantage share fell three points in 21 months

UnitedHealth's share of Medicare Advantage enrollment fell from 28.65% in January 2025 to 25.79% in October 2026, a loss of 473,092 enrollees. Humana rose from 16.7% to 19.81%. Cigna lost 664,869 enrollees, more than any other parent company. Total enrollment rose from 33.97 million to 35.89 million.

Caveats
CMS contract/plan/county enrollment, Medicare Advantage only (stand-alone drug plans left out). Counties with 10 or fewer enrollees are suppressed by CMS. Parent names change after mergers (Elevance was Anthem).
