What it returns
Short interest for every US exchange-listed and OTC stock, straight from FINRA's consolidated short interest data, in clean JSON. Updated twice a month.
Per ticker and settlement date: shares short, previous shares short, change and change %, average daily volume, **days to cover**, listing market, and stock-split / revision flags.
Common uses
Squeeze screens: highest days to cover or biggest short build-ups on the latest date. Short-covering alerts: largest drops in shares short. Backtests: point-in-time history by settlement date.

POST https://api.pushbuild.com/finra-short-interest/run with a JSON body. Send your key in the X-API-Key header.

dateTo | string | YYYY-MM-DD. Default: today. |
market | string: all, exchange, otc | Listing market. Default: "all". |
minShortInterest | integer | Only rows with at least this many shares short. |
minDaysToCover | number | Shares short / average daily volume. |
minAvgDailyVolume | integer | Filters out thinly traded stocks. |
minChangePercent | number | Change in shares short vs the previous settlement date, in percent. |
maxChangePercent | number | Use a negative number to find short covering. |
sortBy | string: shortInterest, daysToCover, changePercent, change, symbol, settlementDate | Default: settlement date with symbols, shares short without. |
order | string: desc, asc | Sort direction. Default: "desc". |
maxItems | integer | Maximum items to return (1-500). Default: 100. |
