What it returns

Who lobbies state governments, for which clients, and what they report being paid and spending, collected from each state's lobbying regulator into one schema.

Registrations: lobbyist, lobbying firm, client (principal or employer), client industry and location, year, start and end dates, legislative or executive branch, for Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, New York and Washington. Spending: compensation paid by clients and lobbying expenditures (by category, payee and purpose where reported), with filer, client, amount and period, for Colorado, New York (bi-monthly reports from 2019), Texas and Washington.

Search by client, lobbyist, firm, industry, state, year range, spending kind or minimum amount, or group the matches to get totals: the firms with the most clients, the clients paying the most, a company's lobbyists across states.

Sources: Colorado Secretary of State, Florida Lobbyist Registration Office, Illinois Secretary of State, Texas Ethics Commission and Washington Public Disclosure Commission, rebuilt weekly. Years vary by state (Texas from 1991, Colorado from 1995, Washington from 2016, Florida current registrations). Street addresses, emails and phone numbers are not included.

Charged per record or total returned.
