What it returns
Official statistics from Statistics Iceland (Hagstofa Íslands), read from its PxWeb API. Pull monthly consumer prices and inflation, quarterly population by citizenship, and GDP at constant prices, browse the table tree, search tables, or read any Icelandic table with your own filters. Periods come back in ISO form. No key needed.

table | string | Any table as database/folders/ID, e.g. Efnahagur/visitolur/1_vnv/1_vnv/VIS01000. Find paths with Browse or Search tables. |
filters | string | Variable code -> value codes, e.g. {"Index": ["CPI"], "Item": ["change_A"]}. ["*"] selects all values. Variables left out use the table total where it has one, else their first value. |
lastN | integer | How many of the latest periods (months, quarters or years, as the table has them) to return. Default: 2. |
fromPeriod | string | First period as the table codes it, e.g. 2020M01, 2020Q1 or 2020. Overrides Latest periods. |
toPeriod | string | Last period in ISO form, e.g. 2026-06 or 2026Q2. |
browse | string | List the folders and tables under a path, e.g. Samfelag/vinnumarkadur. Empty string lists the five databases. |
search | string | Words to search table titles across all databases. Returns table paths instead of data. |
maxItems | integer | Maximum items to return (1-500). Default: 100. |
