What it returns
How many people flew yesterday, and how does that compare with last year? This API returns the TSA's daily count of travelers screened at US airport checkpoints, every day since January 2019, already lined up against the same weekday a year earlier and smoothed with a 7-day average. It also returns the Bureau of Transportation Statistics' monthly indicators: airline passengers, airline on-time performance, air cargo, freight rail carloads, truck tonnage, transit ridership and the Transportation Services Index. Used by travel, airline and hotel analysts, and by traders tracking airline stocks and consumer demand.
TSA daily** (`tsaDaily`): date, weekday, travelers, same weekday last year, year-over-year %, 7-day average, and its year-over-year %. BTS monthly** (`btsMonthly`): one row per series per month, with value, previous month, month-over-month %, same month last year, and year-over-year %. More than 130 series are available.
