What it returns
The US Drought Monitor is the official weekly map of drought in the United States, produced by the National Drought Mitigation Center with USDA and NOAA. This API returns its statistics as clean JSON for the whole country, any state or any county, back to 2000.
One row per week and area:. pctInDrought**: share of area in drought (D1 to D4). cumulative shares: `pctD0OrWorse`, `pctD2OrWorse`, `pctD3OrWorse`, `pctD4`, and `pctNone`. per-category shares: `pctD0Only` (abnormally dry), `pctD1Only` (moderate), `pctD2Only` (severe), `pctD3Only` (extreme), `pctD4` (exceptional). dsci**: Drought Severity and Coverage Index, 0 to 500. week-over-week change in share in drought and in DSCI. county name and FIPS at county level.

dateTo | string | YYYY-MM-DD. Default: today. Maps are released every Thursday, valid from the Tuesday before. |
maxItems | integer | Maximum items to return (1-500). Default: 100. |
