What it returns
Search the official **Consumer Financial Protection Bureau complaint database**: more than 18 million complaints against banks, credit card issuers, mortgage servicers, debt collectors, credit bureaus, payment apps and fintechs, updated daily. Each complaint includes: - **Company, product and sub-product, issue and sub-issue** - **The consumer's own narrative**, where they chose to publish it - **The company's response**: closed with monetary relief, closed with explanation, or in progress, plus whether it was timely and any public statement - **The date received, state, ZIP code, how it was submitted, and tags** (Older American, Servicemember) You can search the full text and filter by company, product, issue, state, ZIP, response type and date range. Use cases: competitor and reputation monitoring, compliance and risk analysis, fintech due diligence, legal research, journalism and voice-of-customer analysis. The data is public domain (CC0) and comes from the CFPB.
