Sound familiar?
What Jobber users who keep books in QuickBooks tell us before a project starts.
- The office invoices in Jobber and then keys the same invoice into QuickBooks.
- A client paid in Jobber and QuickBooks still shows the invoice as open.
- Clients appear twice in QuickBooks with slightly different names.
- Jobber's own QuickBooks link syncs, but the items and accounts land in the wrong places.
- I can't tell which crew or service line made the money without a spreadsheet.
What we build
Each one is a working piece you can open and check when it's done.
Clients and items lined up
Jobber clients are matched to existing QuickBooks customers first, and services and products are mapped to your income accounts, so nothing new is created without a reason.
QuickBooks, Xero and HubSpot integrationsInvoices and payments both ways
Invoices flow from Jobber into QuickBooks, and a payment taken in either system is applied to the same invoice, including deposits and part payments.
QuickBooks, Xero and HubSpot integrations API integrations and data syncTax, tips and adjustments
Sales tax by job location, tips, discounts, write-offs and credits are posted by rules we set out in the scope, and not left to the default.
API integrations and data syncFailed sync alerts
A job that does not post, a client that cannot be matched or an invoice edited after sending is reported to you with the Jobber link.
n8n, Make and Zapier automationBackfill from your start date
Past invoices and payments are compared with what QuickBooks already holds and only the gaps are added, tested in a copy of the company first.
Python scripts and utilities ETL and data pipelinesClass and crew reporting
A report shows revenue by crew, service type or location and lists any invoice that differs between the two systems. Handover notes come with it.
Dashboards and reportingThe two tools: Jobber, QuickBooks.
Also connected on request: Jobber, QuickBooks Online, Stripe, Google Sheets, Zapier, Slack.
Example projects
Illustrations of the shape of the work, not past clients. Yours gets its own written scope.
Example project
Lawn invoices without the retyping
Example: a lawn care company invoices recurring visits in Jobber and wants each month's invoices to reach QuickBooks overnight, tied to the right customer.
Jobber API, QuickBooks Online API, scheduled jobExample project
Cleaning jobs by team
Example: a cleaning company with three teams wants Jobber revenue tagged to a QuickBooks class for each team, so profit by team is one report.
Jobber, QuickBooks Online classes, Google SheetsExample project
Existing connector, wrong accounts
Example: a pest control business already uses the Jobber link to QuickBooks but wants its chemical charges and travel fees posted to separate accounts.
Jobber, QuickBooks Online, custom mapping layerQuestions people ask first
Isn't there already a native connector or app for this?
Jobber offers its own QuickBooks Online connection, and for many shops it covers the basics. We check how yours is set, repair the setup if that is the issue, and build around the limits if you need different accounts, class tracking or checks the built-in one does not offer.
Do we have to stop using the connection we have?
Not unless it is the cause. We read how it behaves, and agree what stays and what we replace before we change it.
Who owns what you build?
You do. It runs in your own Jobber and QuickBooks accounts, with notes for your bookkeeper.
How do we start?
